Such brutal and violent acts filling up mother earth’s history and we sit here idle, ignorant, staring at our screens. We are not only neglecting it, but also refusing to accept the bitter realities!
It’s time to cope up with our present circumstances. 1000 people dead? Numerous killed in flood?!New war situation?Economic and political crisis? Corruption? What not!
The case of Dr.Aafia Siddique; prisoner 650 needs attention:
“Aafia Siddiqui (born March 2, 1972) is an American-educated Pakistani cognitive neuroscientistwho was convicted after a jury trial in a U.S. federal court of assault with intent to murder her U.S. interrogators in Afghanistan. The charges carried a maximum sentence of life in prison. On September 23, 2010, she was sentenced to 86 years in prison.”(says wikipedia)
Aafia Siddique having said to commit such a crime, has been sentenced to 86 years prison, away from her young children! She is locked in Guantanamo bay; which is a hell on earth according to the Americans themselves! Listen to these complaints of three other Muslim prisoners there:
“Three British Muslim prisoners, now known in the media as the “Tipton Three“, were released in 2004 without charge. The three have alleged ongoing torture, sexual degradation, forced drugging and religious persecution being committed by U.S. forces at Guantánamo Bay. Former Guantánamo detainee Mehdi Ghezali was freed without charge on July 9, 2004, after two and a half years internment. Ghezali has claimed that he was the victim of repeated torture. Omar Deghayes alleges he was blinded by pepper spray during his detention. Juma Al Dossary claims he was interrogated hundreds of times, beaten, tortured with broken glass, barbed wire, burning cigarettes, and sexual assaults. David Hicks also made allegations of torture and mistreatment in Guantánamo Bay, but as part of his plea bargain Hicks withdrew the allegations”(Wikipedia)
Gosh, how she bore all torture being so weak and woman? I mean, if men cant afford it, how could a woman bear it? Emotional, sexual, and such brutal tortures…And now sentenced to 86 years imprisonment, responding with, “I forgive all those who tortured me,just to gain my Allah’s(God’s) mercy!
Think of her three innocent minors- her beloved children! She won’t be seeing them for a lifetime! What of their future?..Can you imagine that? !what of her mother, her sister, her family, her country?? Do you feel anything?
Was she really a criminal? Or was it a case of self-defense? Or was it something entirely different that we’re blinded to see? Who here hears to the plea of an innocent woman, or a MUSLIM woman?
