Awards 2014 –

HELLO, I HAVE GOT SO MANY AWARDS PILED UP AND I DON’T THINK I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS POST.

*Sigh*

Okay, hi again. I still don’t know how to do this post.

This is my fifth award post by the way. And my fifth year blogging too. Like, I just celebrated my fourth blogversary with imaginary balloons on 6th September, two thousand and fourteen. YAY.

Blogging was once everything to me. I was so so addicted to it, mostly because it was my favorite best outlet and I feared no judgement. My earliest posts here are some of the most childish, simplest, and lamest you’ll find. I like keeping them, though, because they were parts of me that I now miss.

It’s not that anymore. I still do love this space more than nething but things changed, I changed, life changed… *insert emo quote* 😛

Coming to the awards, there is the 2013 Blog of the Year award from sister Aisha! She gave this to me in January *gulps* and here’s to tell her that I’m truly grateful for the nomination. 🙂

Aisha’s Oasis is a beautiful blog of her journey through Egypt! You’ll like the stories presented there. =] She has also given me the Wonderful team member readership award for which I’m truly grateful.

Then there is the Butterfly Light Award from the wonderful Beckarooney! She is one of the best people I’ve met here! Loves plants, takes photos, writes wonders.

She had also nominated me for a virtual blog tour which was supposed to be posted on 15th December, but *sigh* I couldn’t make it. Thank you though, I feel REALLY proud of this.

Besides other rules, this award requires me to explain in a paragraph how I am a positive influence or how I am spreading light. That is like. Um. I…

I don’t know how I am a positive influence but I know that I like people and I like living. Life can be very pathetic sometimes and we all know that. Friends leave, mishaps fall, things change, cross cross cross. One doesn’t get what they want, or maybe they do get it and then watch it slipping from their hands without having a say in that matter whatsoever. But Inna ma’al usri yusra [Verily, along with every hardship is relief] and Zindagi Megzara [Life moves on] so you know, one can just as well be okay about it. Why whine when you can shine~ [Lel]

Next is The Versatile Blog Award and The Sunshine Award from aak92! Thank you so much, awesome person! 🙂

Also, there’s a Very Inspiring Blog Award from the wonderful Tina. Thank you, and I apologize for the delay! Suyash has also nominated me for this award with a lovely note on his blog. I am truly humbled, and well, THANK YOU! You made my end-of-year better! 😀

There is also the Liebster Award from this person which was given to me this November. Thank you again, and again, for your friendship and awesomeness!

(I have also been asked 11 questions from him which are pretty interesting. I will write another post to answer them separately, later inshaAllah.) ^-^

Then there is the Dragon’s Loyalty Award from Reva given to me on September 16. ‘Strings of soulfulness‘ is what her blog is called, and trust me her musings are just as beautiful as this name! Continue reading

Happy Anniversary to Myself!

Checked my mail and a recent comment on a blog brought me to check and I am so glad I did! Here’s a great surprise sent just now from WordPress and reminds me of what I had forgotten! (Only I wonder how I forgot my day. 😦 )

Happy Anniversary!
Standard
2013, Awards, By the roaring waves!, My Writings

I’d like to thank Y’all!

My beautiful ladies and gentlemen! I welcome on stage, our very famous (?) WordPress blogger who started her career almost three years back and is now a proud owner of… erm, just 230 posts! Anyways, on your huge applause we have here with us: Miss Randomly Abstract!!!

*Deafening applause* (A lady dressed in a royal blue sarri comes forward to the stage and turns to wave the crowd before she climbs the first step.)*gestures thankyou by waving her hands* and takes a step forward, still looking back and thump! (the crowd gasps unitedly and looks in horror at the fallen creature)
The host first looks horrified, than he crouches as he tries to keep his laughter when the angry lady shouts at him.

“You bead-eyed! Can’t you see your guest has fallen? Is it not in your list of manners to come ahead and help her up???”

‘Oh sorry ma’am. I’m very sorry’, says the embarrassed host as he hurries towards the step and holds her hand to help her stand.

“Now here. Next time remember to be dutiful. If there is another next time, God forbid.”, hushes the lady in his ear.

‘Sorry for the interruption ladies and gentlemen! Here we have our beautiful blogger, Miss R.A with us. Let us make most of this honorable occasion and ask her about herself’, says the host in an effort to bring things back to good.

“Hi everybody!”, exclaims Miss R.A as she forces the host away and takes his place on the dice. (the host looks disgustingly)

“I am Miss R.A. And this is a very blissful occasion as you see. I have been honored with a numberrr of awards by my beautifullll readers!” *she hides her purse behind the dice and opens the zip secretly* “And so, I’d like to thank each one of you for your support and appreciation. To finally commence my speech, I’d like to…” *her hands in her purse as she tries to find something, her forehead wrinkled with confusion* “quote my favorite….

(Oh wait, where’s my speech? *lady looks terrified as she fails to find her paper which she had kept in her purse*

The host comes forward, forgetting the previous disrespectful situation and asks politely if she as lost something.)

“Yes. I have lost my mind, say that. Where is my written speech?”, she asked.

‘No problem missus. Don’t fuss please. Say whatever you remember or what ever you’d like to, please’, pleaded the irritated host.

“Yeah if it was you, I would have seen how not to fuss when your paper’s missing. It had taken me the whole long night, then another more hours to get it proofread and now that its missing, you tell me NOT TO FUSS? NO PROBLEM it is? How ridiculous!”

‘Well ma’am. You are getting off your limits. Kindly pardon the crowd and end up with your turn already’, the host half-shouts.

“So well my dearies,” continues Miss R.A as she completely ignores the host, “I am still not too old to forget what my favorite quote was. My lovely friend Paulo Coelho once said:

When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream.

And you see, that has stood true for me! Here while I stand addressing you all at this position on such an occasion, I think it holds true for me. It must, for you too.

Now coming back to my bunch of awards, you see I have got a whole lot of them. This is the third time I have been called, and I shall be pleased to announce what I have in my trophy closet for now!

Firstly, thank you Bee for these special awards! I am so glad you thought of me! 🙂

Second, I must thank Ajaytao for gifting me with so many of them: that day and this day! And as you generously ask me to choose on my own, I will choose those that are new and my favorite. Thanks! 🙂

Now, thanks to my very dear friends at Two Rights Attempting To Make A Left for these awesome tokens of love:

And now, well here is this Shine on Award from Special One and lets please invite him here to praise me.

He: You are a genius! You write beautiful prose and poetry! You deserve this Shine On Award from me, please accept and oblige!

Me: Why Special One! Thankyou!! 🙂

He: “every blogger thinks that they think so much and too much and so deep and too deep and no one can match their brain pattern and so on and on. actually you people are just social rejects who dont have humans to listen to your rants.”

Me: WHAT?? What the hell are you talking about? I, a social reject?

He: “Writing is not a skill. It’s not, ask a 5-year-old to write some thing about his/her favorite thing and they will have some words on the paper too and some one would find a deep meaning and hidden metaphors within them. writing is just a way to kill time and to boost your -..”

(Lady looks baffled. She doesn’t know how to respond and cuts in.)

Me: Thankyou special One! I really appreciate you thought of me, but well I think your time’s up. You may leave.”

He: Every one responds with thankyou for reading it and I respect your opinions and blah but inside they are probably either planning the murder or devastated and let down. Relax love.

Me: THANKYOU SPECIAL ONE. Please leave!

He laughs and says, oh and you have a very awkward blog name! Then he goes away. (Lady sighs with relief while the crowd hoots for that brave man. Lady looks sternly at the host who is laughing hard so that he immediately stops and pretends to be serious.)

“Well my followers! That was just a funny admirer, he has his own ways of telling how much he appreciates it.”, adds the lady calmly.

“Here we have some more awards. Which one is this? Oh my beloved friend White Pearl has given me the Awesome Blog Content award. Why White Pearl, thankyou sooo much! :D”

From Tanumoy

Host: Ma’am are you done yet?

Lady: I’ve won many awards and I want more. If you want to call it hunger then I’m hungry for awards.

Host: Didn’t Shahrukh Khan said that?

Lady: What’s with you??

“Now here is our another lovely friend The Only Martian who has honored me from the Shine On award! Thankyou dearest! :)”

From Lalaruk and Moniba

“Thankyou my friends for thinking of me! You see, I am not following any rules except expressing my gratitude which is because I am very very happy! 😀

Now I’d like to end my post- erm speech here. Yes host, keep on mimicking me. What do you think? Am I blind? Anywaaaaaays, thankyou all!

And yess, to let you all know how thankful I am, I must allow each one of you to choose these awards, so those of you who follow even any single of the following terms, qualify:

  • Those that rate my poems Can You Draw Hatred and/or The Shadow Show.
  • Those that like my facebook page here: Randomly Abstract, which you must do gleefully! 😉
  • Those that are already linked here.
  • Those that comment below! =D
  • And even those that just like! (yes yes, grab your favorite ones!)

Now thankyou and rejoice! Your favorite awards are yours! 😀

(Lady waves to the cheering crowd and takes a step forward when she realizes she is forgetting her purse, turns back, picks her purse and paper and waves again, not forgetting to shoot a stern look at the impeccable host who is grinning joyfully.)

*The End*

This speech has been written in response to the Daily Prompt: I’d Like to Thank My Cats: You are receiving an award –- either one that already exists, or a new one created just for you. What would the award be, why are you being honored, and what would you say in your acceptance speech? / Last but not the Least.

You are amazing!! And you know that, don’t you?

Because if you don’t, then this post will let you know that you are! And if you already do, it will only confirm it for better!

Awards, for me, are lovely tokens of appreciation and honor! This post is to specially thank all those lovely readers who have nominated me for some very amazing awards! And also, to pass these tokens to those that deserve it better..

The awards that I show-cased previously in my post “Two and a hundred” have their rules pending. Plus, I have been nominated by two THREE more bloggers! So here I go. 🙂

super-sweet-blogging-awardThe Super Sweet Blogging Award

That indeed is the ‘sweetest’! And I feel elated to have this! It has been given to me by Amira.

The rules of this award are:

  1. Thank the Super Sweet Blogger that nominated you. >Thanked her in this post. But of course, I will thank you again because this has excited me all over twice! 🙂
  2. Answer 5 Super Sweet questions. > The questions that she has asked in her post Trophy Closet are:
    • Cookies or Cake? – Cakes! Ice-cream cakes especially, Fudge is awesome too!
    • Chocolate or Vanilla? – I like both, but I’d prefer chocolate! Preparing one for me? 😉
    • Favorite sweet dish? – Well, lab-e-shireen. Or you may call it fruit trifle.
    • When do you crave sweet things most? – While studying! Seriously.
    • Sweet nickname? – Mars, my friends call me that. Though I’d like to stay Maria here. 🙂
  3. Include the Super Sweet Blogging Award in your blog post. > Did so. Thanks again!

  4. Nominate your nominees on their blog.

>Below are four sweet bloggers whom I have nominated for this award! Congratulations and really, you deserve it! 🙂

If you are interested in answering ‘sweet’ questions, then please answer those that amira asked me. I can’t think of any better! 😉

♦ White Pearl

♦ Mary Clever

♦ Ardizza

♦ Sweetsaltyandscrumptious

liebster award

The Liebster Blog Award

This too is from Amira and is one of the best! I love it!
Liebster in German means ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’ but it can also mean “favorite”..

The rules for this one are:

  1. List eleven random facts about yourself.
  2. Nominate eleven other bloggers for the Liebester Award.
  3. Notify these bloggers.
  4. Ask eleven questions that the bloggers must answer upon accepting the Liebester Award
  5. Answer the eleven questions that you were asked when you were nominated.

    The Eleven Facts!

(Eleven? Really, eleven? And I am stuck on the first.)
    Alright, here:

    • I wrote my first poem when I was nine titled ‘Guess who make these?’ (Which stands for: Who Is Our Creator?) 🙂
    • I am the type who saves everything, from gift-wrappers to old chit-chats so that I cherish the memories later! I find it difficult to forget things, or people.
    • Tablet, iPhone, or Laptop – these are currently in my wish list. So feel free to gift any of these. 😉
    • I have a huge collection of memories: from embarrassing moments that are always as embarrassing as were in the first place! *blushes*. And happy moments which are always pleasing to think of! (Isn’t this similar to the second point?)
    • I am very bad at making decisions. For instance, I will think a hundred times before changing a blog theme, and will end up on the one I use, miserably.
    • I like to paint, sketch, and write. (I have said that before. But you see, the rules doesn’t say it has to be a new fact!)
    • I have a list of countries in my travel wish-list. Malaysia has always hold magic for me, maybe because of its name.
    • I am badly stuck at point eight.
    • I was very fascinated by Enid Blyton books when I was a kid. 🙂
    • While in school, I participated in Spelling Bee competition and won the district round! Then our name appeared in the local newspaper as ‘spelling bee stars’! (Another memory for the list..)
    • I rarely use Twitter, and I have begun to dislike Facebook too. I like to socialize, but these platforms now bore me.

Now The Answers:Amira has asked the following fun questions:

    • Why do you blog?

I blog to share, so that I can pour my feelings and relax!

    • If you can be another person for a day, who do you choose to be?

Personally there are few roles I might like to switch but just a day won’t satisfy. So I’d select being a President!

      • Why do you choose to be that person? (this makes it easier answering doesn’t it?) :)

Because the authorities that I will be granted will almost make me feel I have got a magic wand! 😉 You see, I have a day’s switching only. So I will borrow this role and make permanent amendments to set things right!

      • If you were to exchange your hands with someone else for 24 hours, whose hands would you have? (I borrowed this question from someone)

Umm, 24 hours? My mother then!

      • Why did you choose the person you chose above. :)

Cuz she has the most beautiful hands always taking care of me!

      • What is the color of the outfit you are wearing right now?

      Its black with bright-colored flowers!

    • Why do you think I asked that last question?Haha! All I can say is ‘God knows and you know’! 😉 Oh if you had asked me what color I have for Eid, I’d tell more ecstatically!
      • What is the exact thought running through your mind right now?

That its kinda tough answering. And also, what am I going to ask my nominated bloggers?! 😉

      • If you got the chance to get reborn to this world, what would you want to be different about you?

I don’t know what I could change about myself, but I’d definitely refrain from all and any mistakes that I have made.

      • What is the best movie you have watched in your entire life?

There certainly are certain movies that I enjoyed for certain, but that one best movie is yet to come! 😉

      • What is the one question that I should be asking you, instead of all of the above?

Wait. *Thinking hard*.. What’s your favorite dish? And I would be writing here a list! 😀

      Now For My nominees:

      Tanumoy Biswas.
      Ain Riz.
      Mohammad Sarosh.
      Silent Fingers
      Sir Utham
      Mam Tanveer Rauf.
      Akanksha.
      Sumaiya.
      Khaula Nazir.
      Minuscule Moments.
      Niki.

    • Questions for you:

Whoops! Should I do that with you? I will try to be easy with my question Because you eleven deserve the Liebster award so well! Liebster In german;as I told, means ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’ but it can also mean “favorite”.. and your blog for me is a wonderful spot!

    Who is your ideal?
Your best quality in your own eyes?
    Most memorable moment?
    Your favorite color?
A dream yet to be accomplished?
    Patriotic?
    Favorite book?
    Meat or vegetable?
    Fiction or poetry?
One thing you’d change in this world if given a chance?

The above elevens are free to:

  1. Answer all questions and take the award.
  2. Not answer any question, but still take the award! 😉

(Oh and if you choose the second option, then please be kind enough to leave a blogging tip here in the comments! That will do equally fine! 🙂 )

……………………………………………………………………………………..

Yipee! Done with that too! Now is another award by the very awesome gegebearbear: Two Rights Attempting To make A Left! ‘Happily married couple taking one day at a time to reacquaint with one another after surviving life-threatening illnesses!’

Thanks a million for nominating me for the Very Inspiring Blog Award. You both hold so much inspiration yourself, for the rest of the world!

shine-on-awardAwarded to me by my two superb friends, White Pearl and Moniba! I send in your way barrels of warm wishes and thankfulness!

Rules of the awards:

  • State seven things about yourself.
  • Link to 15 other bloggers.

Seven things: Extract the first or the last seven from the ‘Eleven facts’ or find them here.

I shall nominate for this award, all those super-awesome bloggers that I found in the starting of this blog i.e. when ‘RandomlyAbstract’ was a new-born. The posts were stupid, they contained typos, grammatical mistakes, excessive emotions. But these people helped me to move on. And encouraged me to write more.

Now that I check back, I realize how much their connection meant to me, and that ‘bloggers’ are the most wonderful strangers.

Among these,

– some don’t post as often as they used too. Some have almost abandoned their blog. 😦

– some still write. And write fantastic as usual! I feel unfortunate to have lost connection. So this is to let them know that their blogs are superb! I look forward to reading your blogs again! Shine on as you always do! 🙂

Two and a hundred.

The first step in blogging is not writing them but reading them.Jeff Jarvis

I reached 200 posts. 113 followers. and 728 comments~ 22,222+ all-time views! Isn’t that a wow?

My 100th post was posted on 22nd April 2012. Read it here.

And to add the honor, and make my day (and make me jump with joy), are these VERY AMAZING awards that just got their way in at the 200 posts celebration day!

The Nomadic Soliloquist; whom I met on wordpress recently, and have been following his blogs religiously. ‘They are so complete’, I would tell my cousin. ‘With a very attractive related-photo on the top, to an interestingly descriptive note, and a poetry to enhance its beauty, music, inspiration, or notes about the topics if necessary, he leaves nothing that could spread utmost joy to his readers!’

He has given me the following awards:

The ABC award..

(I will be following rules in a later post.)

The Inner Peace award!

(The award is a beauty in itself!)

Most Influential Blogger Award..

(Really?!)

The Sunshine Award!

(That is just so cool!)

The Versatile Blogger Award!!

(My favorite!)

To double my joy is this comment: “If I had to choose, I would give you the ABC award for your quality of thoughts; the Inner Peace award for the innocence your posts carry; the Most Influential Blogger award for the impact you have with your writing; the Sunshine award for the positive vibes your words spread; and lastly, the Versatile Blogger award for one strong reason, which you wrote yourself: “…my blog is about many many other things that I like – it has random thoughts, abstract artworks, my fave poems, stories, sports, Google and technologies, nature, natural beauties, places I like to visit, my family, my friends, popular events that can so not be ignored, and if I conclude it: ‘Different colors of Different ideas!’” Your blog reflects that truly. :)

So well, anybody can guess how it feels. 🙂

Secondly, amira whom I met in December 2011 and who is from Maldives, has honored me with these very ‘sweet’ awards and I’m just so elated! Thanks a tonne for your kindness, you have no idea how special it seems.

The Super Sweet Blogging Award!

And this:

The Liebster Blog Award.

Don’t worry! I shall be following all rules VERY soon. 🙂 On a second note, I’d really recommend you all to step into their blog-worlds and see what joy they spread!! =)

Last but not the least, I thank you all for staying around and reading and commenting! I will make sure to blog better, and regular in future. AND I would love to know your advices or recommendations for my blog!

Thanks and love,

These award require that I state 7 things about myself.. which is tough, I guess. But here I go:

  1. I am a Muslim girl who lives in Pakistan. (I think I never mentioned that in my blogs before though it’s very visible from my posts..)
  2. I like black and blue colors.  I like all dark, light, vibrant colors that exist!!
  3. I love to write n write and I plan to publish a novel one day. (Just that I am very lazy and I think it will take MUCH time to complete it! )
  4. I host three other blogs too; about college, fashion, and posts by kids. (But that was never worth mentioning before because I don’t update them often. The only blog is THIS one that I love a lot! )
  5. Two things that I enjoy most are painting and poetry. I do them both.
  6. Diaries are my dearest possessions. Stationery items like pens, pencils with sharp nips, they compel me to write! 😉
  7. I am talkative, try to add humor in everyday life, and emotional.

So that is it about me! =)

It also requires that I nominate my favorite blogs, and here I go again:

I so love all these blogs and they are a source of inspiration to me! Some of them are photo blogs, some travelogues, others are daily life and random posts that can make your day! 🙂

I entered into the blogging world on 6 September, 2010 and published my first post “TODAY” on 9/9/2010 which as I now see, contains a lot of errors and typos! But I won’t edit it and let you all read it. Here. 😀

Happy Blogging Everybody!

-Maria.
