Awards 2014 –

HELLO, I HAVE GOT SO MANY AWARDS PILED UP AND I DON’T THINK I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS POST.

*Sigh*

Okay, hi again. I still don’t know how to do this post.

This is my fifth award post by the way. And my fifth year blogging too. Like, I just celebrated my fourth blogversary with imaginary balloons on 6th September, two thousand and fourteen. YAY.

Blogging was once everything to me. I was so so addicted to it, mostly because it was my favorite best outlet and I feared no judgement. My earliest posts here are some of the most childish, simplest, and lamest you’ll find. I like keeping them, though, because they were parts of me that I now miss.

It’s not that anymore. I still do love this space more than nething but things changed, I changed, life changed… *insert emo quote* 😛

Coming to the awards, there is the 2013 Blog of the Year award from sister Aisha! She gave this to me in January *gulps* and here’s to tell her that I’m truly grateful for the nomination. 🙂

Aisha’s Oasis is a beautiful blog of her journey through Egypt! You’ll like the stories presented there. =] She has also given me the Wonderful team member readership award for which I’m truly grateful.

Then there is the Butterfly Light Award from the wonderful Beckarooney! She is one of the best people I’ve met here! Loves plants, takes photos, writes wonders.

She had also nominated me for a virtual blog tour which was supposed to be posted on 15th December, but *sigh* I couldn’t make it. Thank you though, I feel REALLY proud of this.

Besides other rules, this award requires me to explain in a paragraph how I am a positive influence or how I am spreading light. That is like. Um. I…

I don’t know how I am a positive influence but I know that I like people and I like living. Life can be very pathetic sometimes and we all know that. Friends leave, mishaps fall, things change, cross cross cross. One doesn’t get what they want, or maybe they do get it and then watch it slipping from their hands without having a say in that matter whatsoever. But Inna ma’al usri yusra [Verily, along with every hardship is relief] and Zindagi Megzara [Life moves on] so you know, one can just as well be okay about it. Why whine when you can shine~ [Lel]

Next is The Versatile Blog Award and The Sunshine Award from aak92! Thank you so much, awesome person! 🙂

Also, there’s a Very Inspiring Blog Award from the wonderful Tina. Thank you, and I apologize for the delay! Suyash has also nominated me for this award with a lovely note on his blog. I am truly humbled, and well, THANK YOU! You made my end-of-year better! 😀

There is also the Liebster Award from this person which was given to me this November. Thank you again, and again, for your friendship and awesomeness!

(I have also been asked 11 questions from him which are pretty interesting. I will write another post to answer them separately, later inshaAllah.) ^-^

Then there is the Dragon’s Loyalty Award from Reva given to me on September 16. ‘Strings of soulfulness‘ is what her blog is called, and trust me her musings are just as beautiful as this name! Continue reading

Am I in love?

Of course I am!

I am in LOVE with this new background and this new header that Moniba specifically designed for me!

How it happened exactly?

Well, she asked me if I’d trust her with my wp password. I said ‘I think I will’ but then why’d she want? She told me its going to be a surprise – more like a present.

I couldn’t hold on to my curiosity but I couldn’t ask her again after having logged out myself and let her do what she wanted to. Because she had fore written the list of things that she won’t do, which she wasn’t supposed to do. So I slept rather peacefully.

It was after about two hours that I woke up at her call and was told to see my new blog look. If I liked it, it was a present. If I didn’t, I could switch back.

And did I like it? Nah. I fell in love with it! It’s too perfect for my taste, too RandomlyAbstract, Maria-ish it is! (and Moniba-ish too) 😉

I loved my previous, colorful, mustard-pink look too, but I wished to change it. And too afraid to do it myself (and to think how it will look) I had dropped the idea. But she, she did it. So easily, and so perfectly, only after having promised: that she just won’t even think about changing my ‘dear look’.

This post is to thank her, for the most pleasant surprise of the year two zero one three and for her love and her time and for breaking her promise and making me smile! 😀

Two and a hundred.

The first step in blogging is not writing them but reading them.Jeff Jarvis

I reached 200 posts. 113 followers. and 728 comments~ 22,222+ all-time views! Isn’t that a wow?

My 100th post was posted on 22nd April 2012. Read it here.

And to add the honor, and make my day (and make me jump with joy), are these VERY AMAZING awards that just got their way in at the 200 posts celebration day!

The Nomadic Soliloquist; whom I met on wordpress recently, and have been following his blogs religiously. ‘They are so complete’, I would tell my cousin. ‘With a very attractive related-photo on the top, to an interestingly descriptive note, and a poetry to enhance its beauty, music, inspiration, or notes about the topics if necessary, he leaves nothing that could spread utmost joy to his readers!’

He has given me the following awards:

The ABC award..

(I will be following rules in a later post.)

The Inner Peace award!

(The award is a beauty in itself!)

Most Influential Blogger Award..

(Really?!)

The Sunshine Award!

(That is just so cool!)

The Versatile Blogger Award!!

(My favorite!)

To double my joy is this comment: “If I had to choose, I would give you the ABC award for your quality of thoughts; the Inner Peace award for the innocence your posts carry; the Most Influential Blogger award for the impact you have with your writing; the Sunshine award for the positive vibes your words spread; and lastly, the Versatile Blogger award for one strong reason, which you wrote yourself: “…my blog is about many many other things that I like – it has random thoughts, abstract artworks, my fave poems, stories, sports, Google and technologies, nature, natural beauties, places I like to visit, my family, my friends, popular events that can so not be ignored, and if I conclude it: ‘Different colors of Different ideas!’” Your blog reflects that truly. :)

So well, anybody can guess how it feels. 🙂

Secondly, amira whom I met in December 2011 and who is from Maldives, has honored me with these very ‘sweet’ awards and I’m just so elated! Thanks a tonne for your kindness, you have no idea how special it seems.

The Super Sweet Blogging Award!

And this:

The Liebster Blog Award.

Don’t worry! I shall be following all rules VERY soon. 🙂 On a second note, I’d really recommend you all to step into their blog-worlds and see what joy they spread!! =)

Last but not the least, I thank you all for staying around and reading and commenting! I will make sure to blog better, and regular in future. AND I would love to know your advices or recommendations for my blog!

Thanks and love,

I feel much honored for this award, thankyou! 🙂

The third and last award is this:

Versatile Blogger Award

Versatile Blogger Award

This has been awarded to me by Akanksha– a versatile Indian blogger with inspirational and interesting blogs! Read hers and you will find the best pieces! Thankyou Akanksha! =)

I am much honored for these awards and I do hope to write better in future.

These award require that I state 7 things about myself.. which is tough, I guess. But here I go:

  1. I am a Muslim girl who lives in Pakistan. (I think I never mentioned that in my blogs before though it’s very visible from my posts..)
  2. I like black and blue colors.  I like all dark, light, vibrant colors that exist!!
  3. I love to write n write and I plan to publish a novel one day. (Just that I am very lazy and I think it will take MUCH time to complete it! )
  4. I host three other blogs too; about college, fashion, and posts by kids. (But that was never worth mentioning before because I don’t update them often. The only blog is THIS one that I love a lot! )
  5. Two things that I enjoy most are painting and poetry. I do them both.
  6. Diaries are my dearest possessions. Stationery items like pens, pencils with sharp nips, they compel me to write! 😉
  7. I am talkative, try to add humor in everyday life, and emotional.

So that is it about me! =)

It also requires that I nominate my favorite blogs, and here I go again:

I so love all these blogs and they are a source of inspiration to me! Some of them are photo blogs, some travelogues, others are daily life and random posts that can make your day! 🙂

I entered into the blogging world on 6 September, 2010 and published my first post “TODAY” on 9/9/2010 which as I now see, contains a lot of errors and typos! But I won’t edit it and let you all read it. Here. 😀

Happy Blogging Everybody!

I haven’t been blogging in a while and wont be – until some more weeks and that is because my prelims are going on and my final papers are just round the corner!

So this post is not just to inform the cause of absence, but I really want your nice wishes! 😉

I have got so many plans for the time I finally get rid of this tiring study session and enjoy relaxation! This is the end of my 2nd college year (i.e. grade XII) so after this I am surely getting much spare time to decide for admission in a good university and for all the mauj masti I have planned! 😀

A sneak and a peek- 012 and 013!

I wish you all (and myself) a very happy new year! May this year brings out the best for everyone! =)

Two Thousand And Twelve is over – and Zero Thirteen is already here! The past hasn’t hidden completely – I can always take a sneak peek and reminisce whatever shades the previous year had stored for me.

Weird was the year, seems so that it ran away too fast. The last year’s celebrations as it arrived are so vivid. And here we are rejoicing for ANOTHER new year! May this year be different from the rest, because years come and go. Only UNIQUE things remain remembered!

As for resolutions and promises, I am going to try my EVER-BEST to blog regularly. And I will start blogging at tumblr too. Some way or other, I will unveil the hidden that is inside me.

Quotes, photos, thoughts and stories. Random as it could be. And Abstract all the same. =)

And as for my personal life resolutions, I know what that can be.

  • I am going to study as hard as I could to achieve the goal that my teachers expect from me, because I must come up to somebody’s expectations!
  • I wont live in imaginations. Its not stupid to do so, because girls usually fantasize the world- but I’m older now 😉 I will live in the reality.
  • And yes, while I blog I am NOT going to fear what others will think. Because that makes me so conscious and I don’t like it 😀

Once again, I wish you all a great year ahead! Keep coming to my blog and keep commenting 😉 And yes, live the rest of your life in peace and har

Yes please ;)

With love,

Maria.

(Randomly Abstract)

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog which is the MOST exciting gift for the new year! 😉

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 14,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 3 Film Festivals

A quick review on whats going on!

So here is another random post on whats going on:

  • I read this post “An interesting dialogue between a Muslim student and an Atheist professor”. It is something share-able yet I won’t. Um.
  • I read two more Urdu novels- gonna share on “Books and Authors” soon. One of it makes me wish I had gone to a Cadet College.
  • There is this India-Pakistan music competition which is usually SO heated up!
  • I wrote a story for a contest in a local magazine, and now I am waiting for the results in January! God pleez.
  • I also figured that how being so social on the internet is so, so different from that in real life. I’m different there, here, everywhere.

What else?

  • A friend gifted me a VERY beautiful artwork of hers. I love it so much!
  • I had alot of fun lately, with my elder sister here. We had outings and awesomeness.

Buss.
