The Centipede Effect.

CentipedeAndFrog_

The centipede effect, or the centipede dilemma, is a psychological effect which occurs when “a normally automatic or unconscious activity is disrupted by consciousness of it or reflection on it.”

Here, I have arranged the story of a philosopher frog and the centipede in 100 (and 15) letters to denote  the 100-footed’s effect. The form I have tried to follow is that of concrete/visual poetry which was today’s task under the theme of ‘Animal’.

Candle Life~

Today I am up with my own philosophy and I really know what  a piece of junk it is, but I still want you to give it a read!

Candle life is a way of spending your life. You must have heard that a candle burns itself to give light to others, but nay, that’s not what I am talking about! Read this:

Yesterday when the lights went off (thanks to load-shedding to help me get a post idea ) and unfortunately, the power generator didn’t work too, we had to have a candle-light dinner! 😀

At some point of the story, a candle was about to fall on the table-cloth. I, startled by the sudden scene, took a step backwards with a little scream. But my father took  a step forward and saved the candle from falling, and also us from any possible mishap. Well, this gave food to my thought: There are two stories in everybody’s world. If the candle is about to fall from where it stands, you would take a sudden step backwards by fear of fire. However, if you know at the moment how dangerous would stepping back be, you would immediately leap towards it and stick it to the holder again!”

Not over yet. “If a sudden mishap occurs to your life, or is about to occur in your life, some will be fear-stricken and will take a step back. Or they could even freeze at the moment. But the point is, if you don’t get over it fast, or don’t act responsively and responsibly, it could create a greater mishap. A bigger tragedy. So well, learn to see what happens, breathe it in, live it. Move on. ”

Those who let go of fears and their personal ‘if-and-what-if’s, get to handle the situations better.

Attracting Positivity~

Hey people!

I had been going through some state of desperation, and desolation, and it was not satisfied until I cried my heart out yesterday!

So its very true that once you give permission for your tears to roll down, they take with them your sorrows. And generally, leave you feeling light.

We keep our tears with ourselves thinking it as a protective shield:  that keeps with us and holds back our fears, our disappointments. But the truth is: that as long as we force back our worries in, we cant let positivity out.

See, there is this misery with you. And you feel like its all over for you. And its such a big loss, that it seems nothing can fill it up EVER again! So what actually happens is, that when such a situation occurs, we somehow begin to promise ourselves that we are never going to let it go. And without even knowing it, we keep hold on our promise so tightly, that we don’t realize what we are doing with ourselves. And thus, we fail to feel the remaining beauty of the world.

There had been two times in my life when I cried the worst. Ofcourse I have cried many a times before and after that because well, I am a girl!;) And I am pretty sensitive!! But the worst two times were:

  1. When my old Grandmother died. (May her soul rest in peace.Ameen)
  2. When my parents went abroad for a month.

Both of these, as I now observe, have been due to losses. When a loved one is far, may it be temporary(case 2) or permanent(case 1), its just unbearably sad. But when something is unbearably sad, one must get closer to God.

When you trust Allah, He soothes out all your ways.

-Trust

-Trust

Secondly, when you attract positivity, it makes it way to you. When you let failure overcome you, it actually coils itself over you. When you know you are bad at it, you just get to be bad at it. When you know nothing will be alright, what has the world got to be right then?

But this is just too hard. But of course not impossible. Anything that can come to a human’s mind HAS to be possible. Because it came in that mind.

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will.
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
